Induction heating is a non-contact heating process which applies high frequency electricity to heat materials that are electrically conductive. Since there is no contact, the process does not contaminate material being heated. The heat is generated inside of the material. That way it is contrasted from other heating methods using flames or heating elements.
Thus induction heating is commonly used in many applications where electrically conductive materials must be brought quickly to a high temperature in a clean, efficient and controlled manner.
